Block printing by hand

Turned out i could not screen print my dress, so i had to go to plan B and print it all by hand using a pattern i had to carve myself. i really like the pattern and can't wait for the dress to be completely finished as i will definitely appreciate it more because it took a long to print and my hands hurt now.

I saw this image at the start of my project and it definately gave me a lot of ideas when it came to designing my garment.

Garment Proposal

After doing a lot of research on ethical fashion and sustainability i have decided to create a garment that is entirely made from fabric that is environmentally friendly. I want to create a garment that looks classic and in keeping with this seasons trends. After looking through images and researching ideas that are link to my brief i have decided to use colours such as light blues and dark blues as these were the colour ways that i feel best described the theme of the brief. I like the idea of the 1950's space race so would like to incorperate this theme into my garment by creating a dress in the style of that era.
